Recommended Lessons

The children in the videos seem younger than my child, are the lessons still relevant?

If your child or student does not have the skill, it may still be relevant and worth teaching. Just because the students on the video seem younger than your child it does not mean the skill is not worth teaching. Check out Developmental Milestones for comparable age norms for some of the skills outlined in our curriculum.

What if the programs recommended are programs that my child / student can already do?

Be sure you child can do the skill completely and independently (without your help) for all steps and skills outlined on the Sample Skills to Teach list provided on the lesson descriptions. If the program continues to recommend programs that your child can already do, you can always customize the program using the Manage Curriculum function, and look through the entire curriculum to identify other lessons to teach.

My child doesn’t speak, is this curriculum appropriate?

Yes. Our curriculum provides many lessons that do not require your child to speak. For example, we address attending behavior, receptive language skills, imitation and other motor skills. In addition, we provide lessons for children who are using augmentative communication systems.
